Oversight of payroll and payroll-related processes
Line management of a small finance team
Ensuring clean, accurate, and well-controlled financial data
Maintaining strong compliance across all finance processes
Supporting the Financial Director with reporting, analysis, and governance
Improving and developing accounts administration processes
Supporting the transition to new accounting / ERP systems
Working collaboratively with other departments and “mucking in” where required
This role is fully on-site and requires someone who enjoys being present, involved, and visible within the business.
To be considered, candidates must demonstrate:
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in finance / accounting roles
Proven management experience within a small team environment
Payroll experience and a good understanding of payroll controls
Experience working in a small business or small finance team
A strong compliance-focused mindset
Clear understanding of the importance of clean, accurate data
High attention to detail and methodical working style
A genuine desire to learn, develop, and improve processes
A hands-on attitude and willingness to support other departments when needed
Strong motivation and excellent work ethic
Happy to work fully on-site (no hybrid/remote)
Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
Experience developing or improving accounts administration systems
Involvement in implementing or migrating to new accounting / ERP systems
This is a critical, long-term hire designed to strengthen the finance function and provide stability and resilience as the business evolves. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact, bring structure and consistency, and be a trusted figure within a business that values reliability, integrity, and teamwork.
If you’re an experienced Finance Manager who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and being part of a small, committed team — this role offers both challenge and security.
